Stuart Dean
Stuart Dean is a Senior Project Manager with the Industrial Outreach Service (IOS) at Mississippi State University. In this position, he supports existing and potential Mississippi manufacturers by assisting in evaluating and developing business plans and their related facility, processing, organization and information system requirements and by providing support in evaluation improvements in existing operations. Major focuses include support of agribusiness industries and biomass development. With these focuses, he also serves as treasurer of the Mississippi Biomass Council.
Dean has been with IOS since its inception in 2004 after 17 years of experience at the MSU Extension Food & Fiber Center. In that position, he provided industrial and food engineering support to Mississippi’s agribusiness industries. Prior to joining MSU, he had over 20 years of experience with several major chemical and food companies, namely M&M/Mars (Master Foods), W. R. Grace and Mobil Oil.
Dean received his B.S. degree in industrial engineering from Northeastern University, an M.S. degree in industrial engineering from Cornell University, and completed graduate studies courses in quantitative analysis at the N. Y. U. Graduate Business School.
